The advantages of cultivating good friendship with other countries is if we were to be attacked, other countries will do their best to help us. The other reason is because of trading since Singapore do not have natural resources. We have to buy from other countries. If we do not maintain good friendship with other countries, they might just stop helping us if we were to be attacked and they might stop selling us anymore resources that we lack.

 

Take for example, China and India are actually friends with Iraq considering the fact that Iraq does not have many friends but the two countries decided to befriend Iraq. That means if Iraq were to face some difficulties, China and India will be the first to help.
